Hello again all. Well today I decided to give Steins;Gate anime another try. I had started watching it when it first came out. It’s a sci-fi anime about time travel and alternate universes. As a sci-fi fan I wanted to try it immediately. The characters were pretty cool. Mayuri was certainly cute. And Okarin is crazy. I was interested for a while, but it started to seem lacking, and was moving slowly with not much, or interesting plot progression. It seemed to be focused more just on characters than story, and the time travel wasn’t being used effectively; so I dropped it. Though recently I saw a review of Steins;Gate talking about how good it was, and how it really gets to some hardcore sci-fi action halfway through the series. After episode 8 they said, haha, the episode I dropped it on. So I’m going to give it another go, but that was so long ago I am starting from the beginning. I’ve just finished the first episode, and again I found it quite interesting. Looking forward to my second run!

For those of you who don’t know Steins;Gate is about a self proclaimed, young, “mad scientist” operating his “lab” above a TV repair shop. He has several friends assisting him in his lab, and meets many more to help along the way. The time traveling aspect focuses on their discovery of a microwave they modified that has the ability to send short digital messages (like texts) back in time. The art and tone of the anime is serious, though it’s not without humor. And from what I’ve heard things get a lot more serious halfway through the 24 episode series.

Super Scribblenauts

I got Super Scribblenauts ages ago when it first came out, I came very near the end then stopped. I picked it back up recently and just finished it. It was fun, but I think I must agree with most reviews I’ve seen, that the first was still better. Though Super Scribblenauts fixed everything wrong with the first, like the movement and bagpipes, it did not contain enough new elements to really stand it apart from the first. The major additions were adjectives, which can be fun, but is basically inconsequential to the majority of gameplay. If you loved the first and just wanted more, then it’s good to play, I still enjoyed it greatly. The puzzles did involve more specific items and thoughts than many of the first. But some were maybe to specific, more freedom to experiment with different methods would be fun. For example, sneaking into a wedding, there’s really no other disguise other than a tux or suit. Though I do only have 48% of the merits. My next goal is to work on that!

On another note my games list is about complete. I have a few more NES games to list, and want to go through my PC games to list. But so far it’s over 200 games. I wonder if that’s a lot or not, haha, I don’t have many gamer friends.

I also added my current activities on my sidebar. I’m trying to think of more, but think I have some good ones up.

Things to Come

Hello again, another post so quick. I’m trying to get the hang of this site, I really need my girlfriend to help me more, haha. I must also keep learning Blog etiquette and such. My first effort though will be to fill up my games list page. I’ve done my DS games already, they are always nice and compact and on hand. I was surprised to count 40! And I probably missed a few too. Now I’m fired up to catalog the rest of the games I own. After that I’ll keep exploring what this baby can do.

Hello World! My name is Kyle, I’m a 20 year old male. My wonderful girlfriend, who is a web expert, set up this blog for me as a surprise. And I intend to use it.

I’ll say right out I’m a huge Nintendo fanboy, as my girlfriend well knows, but I respect and play all games. I own an NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Advance SP, DS, DSi, 3DS, Sega Genesis, PS1 and an Xbox 360. I’m also an avid board game player.

While this site is video game themed, I want to write about all kinds of things. Books, movies, TV, anime, manga, or just thoughts. So please, stay tuned.
